WOMEN ROCK!
March 18th, 2005 on Spanish Moss Farm

Women Rock! is a music festival to benefit the Refuge House, a domestic violence and rape crisis program serving 8 counties of North Florida.  Created in honor of Women's History Month, Women Rock! will feature many local, regional and nationally-known women musicians, bands and spoken word artists, all of whom have empowering lyrics and powerful messages.  This all-day festival will include many different genres of music, from jazz to bluegrass and from acoustic guitar to rock, and will feature several different artists, such as Dar Williams, Alix Olson, Holly Near, Chris Pureka, Bethany Cavano, Carmita and The Rest.  Open to the entire community, Women Rock! is an event for everyone to listen, uphold and echo the voices of women.  $7,000 was raised at the 2005 Women Rock! for the Refuge House.
